Education

An estimated 272 million children and youth aged 6–18 remain out of school globally, with Sub‑Saharan Africa accounting for more than half of this population. This reality highlights the urgent need for inclusive, rights‑based education initiatives that reach the most vulnerable.

Girls continue to face the steepest barriers to learning, shaped by structural inequalities, cultural norms, early and forced marriages, and domestic responsibilities. When denied education, they face increased risks of early motherhood, HIV/AIDS, gender‑based violence, and lifelong poverty—deepening cycles of inequality across generations.

Since 2011, the Southern Africa Embrace Foundation’s education program has worked to break these barriers by supporting children from ECD through Grade 8. Our sponsorship model covers school fees, learning materials, digital learning, uniforms, shoes, and daily feeding programs, ensuring that every child—regardless of background—can access quality education and a safe learning environment.

A donation of $40 per month or one time $400 per year enables sponsors to directly transform a child’s future. This investment protects the right to education, strengthens families and communities, and supports Africa’s long‑term development by nurturing informed, confident, and empowered young citizens.
